Grunge Journal,

This particular type of journal is commonly known as a grunge journal because it is made to look old, battered and well loved. The cover has been aged using a Japanese method called Mongurami. I have creased and manipulated the paper using a hand cream to soften it. Once softened, I used inks to give it some colour and then used my sewing machine to randomly stitch some of the creasing in place. There are two decorative areas on the front cover, both featuring a beige and orange paper flower to which I have added a tiny gem to add a touch of bling. The journal is closed with a length of jute ribbon to which I have added a bronze effect metal floral decorative pin,

Every journal I make is unique. Some like this one, are decorative on the outside, but have undecorated pages inside, leaving you lots of space and opportunities write, add photos etc. This particular journal has two sections (signatures) each with 28pages, making a total of 56 pages in the journal. To carry on with the grunge look, the pages are all uneven and have been torn and aged on the edges. They are a mixture of plain, music, lined, book print, coffee dyed and parchment paper adding lots of interest,
